Our CMC department is currently looking for an Associate Researcher CMC (Full-time) to join our team. We are looking for candidates with a passion for working in a chemical laboratory, this role would suit a recent graduate with a background in chemistry or related disciplines. The CMC department has a central role within the ProQR Therapeutics organization. The CMC Department develops, manufactures, and characterizes oligonucleotides and therapeutic formulations for research, clinical development and commercialization.

Location: Leiden, NL (on-site)

Full-time is preferred, 32 hours is negotiable however.

The Role

The Associate Researcher will support the in-house lab activities of the Drug Substance & Chemistry team, which is part of the CMC department. The successful candidate will work closely with other researchers/scientists in an interdisciplinary team environment to help with all activities related to the production of oligonucleotides which include:

• Manufacturing of oligonucleotides by performing all stages of the process, such as synthesis, and chromatographic purification

• Perform proper documentation and accurate record keeping of experimental data.

• Execution of analytical tests (UV-VIS, pH, osmolality).

• Support preparation of technical protocols and reports.

• Support the preparation, or revision, of standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Support general lab activities such as equipment maintenance and inventory management.

We expect our Associate Researcher CMC to have:

• MLO or HLO degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry or related scientific discipline with up to 2 years of industry experience.

• Strong laboratory skills and high degree of attention to detail.

• Good understanding of analytical techniques such as HPLC, LCMS and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

• Proficient in spoken and written English.

• A responsible person with a proactive attitude who can work independently.

• Being flexible and well-organized.

• A team player.

Preferred:

• Experience in a chemical production environment

Onze Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) afdeling is momenteel op zoek naar een Associate Researcher CMC / Junior Laborant (Full-time) om ons team in Leiden te versterken. We zijn op zoek naar kandidaten met een passie voor werken in een chemisch laboratorium. Deze rol is ideaal voor een recent afgestudeerden van het Middelbaar (MLO) of Hoger Laboratoriumonderwijs (HLO). Het oligonucleotide productie team is onderdeel van de CMC afdeling en heeft een centrale rol binnen de organisatie van ProQR Therapeutics. De afdeling ontwikkelt, produceert en karakteriseert oligonucleotiden en therapeutische formuleringen voor onderzoek, klinische ontwikkeling en commercialisatie.

Full-time heeft de voorkeur, 32 uur is bespreekbaar.

De Rol

De Associate Researcher CMC / Junior Laborant zal de interne lab-activiteiten ondersteunen van het Drug Substance & Chemistry team, dat onderdeel is van de CMC-afdeling. De succesvolle kandidaat werkt nauw samen met andere operators (researchers) en wetenschappers (scientists) in een interdisciplinair team om te helpen bij alle activiteiten die te maken hebben met de productie van oligonucleotiden, waaronder:

• Het produceren van oligonucleotiden door alle stappen van het proces uit te voeren (bijvoorbeeld: voorbereiding en bediening van automatische synthesizers, chromatographische zuiveringen)

• Het correct en nauwkeurig documenteren van experimentele gegevens

• Het uitvoeren van analytische testen (UV-VIS, pH, osmolaliteit)

• Ondersteuning bij het opstellen van technische protocollen en rapporten

• Ondersteuning bij de voorbereiding of herzien van standaardprocedures (SOP’s)

• Ondersteuning van algemene labactiviteiten zoals onderhoud van apparatuur en het bijhouden van de inventory

Wij verwachten dat onze Associate Researcher CMC / Junior Laborant beschikt over:

• Afgeronde MLO opleiding in de richting van chemie, analytische chemie, allround laborant of soortgelijk, of HLO chemie opleiding

• Sterke laboratoriumvaardigheden met grote aandacht voor detail

• Goede kennis van analytische technieken zoals HPLC, LC-MS en UV-Vis spectroscopie

• Goede beheersing van de Engelse taal in woord en geschrift

• Je kan goed alleen werken maar haalt ook plezier uit samenwerking in teamverband

• Flexibel en betrouwbaar, en goed kan omgaan met wisselende werkzaamheden
