Throughout the year ProQR regularly welcomes student groups from across the Netherlands.

In December 2023 ProQR participated in the Leiden Bio Science Park Excursion organized by Stiching Bètabanenmarkt, hosting a group of Life Sciences students from Leiden University. ProQR takes pride in establishing meaningful connections and networking with the future leaders of the bioscience area here in Leiden, which is the largest life sciences cluster in the Netherlands.

These interactions provide an opportunity to introduce ProQR to the early talents that will be soon approaching the job market and will hopefully contribute to bringing future innovations into the industry.

Leiden student learning about our Axiomer™ RNA editing technology.

The visit began with general presentations about ProQR, our history, and Axiomer™ RNA editing technology, as well as personal career experiences of proud ProQR ambassadors. After the presentations, ProQR provided the students with tours of our innovative laboratories in Leiden, including the R&D, CMC and Histology departments, and the practical work being undertaken.

This provided a great opportunity for the students to interact with passionate ProQRians explaining some of the activities they work on every day. Alongside interactive questions and experience sharing, students got a snapshot of how it feels to contribute to the development of RNA therapies. If you’re interested in joining ProQR, check out our open vacancies or send us an open application.
